REQUIREMENTS

For upgrade to CDL: Must be 21 years old and able to read, write, and speak English fluently
Initial documents needed when applying: Current Driver's License, Current Traffic Abstract, Current Criminal Abstract

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Perform a systematic and thorough pre-trip inspection of the vehicle to be driven. Complete a Driver’s Inspection Report
  • Drive the vehicle in compliance with company policies, state and federal laws controlling the operation of motor vehicles. Use courteous driving practices when operating the vehicle
  • Utilize radios to communicate with Dispatchers to determine scheduling of trips. Follow directions from dispatchers and keep dispatch advised of any changes in Driver Dispatch Order
  • Ensure promptness for all trips
  • Greet and welcome customers to the community. Maintain professional and courteous conduct during transport of customers.
  • Communicate to customers the guidelines for behavior during transport. Provide narration and announcements in a clear and friendly manner
  • Assist customers when boarding or alighting from the vehicle
  • Drivers are responsible for loading and unloading baggage and items belonging to clients being transported. Drivers must comply with FAA regulations in the handling of luggage at the airport
  • Complete Trip Sheets for each assigned movement
  • Drivers are responsible for fueling (and recording fuel usage) and washing of company equipment when necessary
  • Notify Dispatch Operations of any changes in trip route or schedule. Receive prior authorization from Dispatch Operations for planned deviations
  • Provide narration of information, interesting facts and history of local area. Work with Tour Directors, Interpreters and Narrators to point out important locations and to relate stories of the community
  • Collect coupons, vouchers and monies and provide receipts to customers, when necessary
  • Perform post-inspections of vehicle after trip is completed. Refuel vehicle. Clean the exterior and interior of the vehicle
  • Complete a Vehicle Accident Report and follow company policies in the event of an accident

    School Bus Aides All Islands

    The primary function of this position is to supervise the Special Education Student passengers and ensure their safety, thus allowing the driver to focus on the current traffic conditions. This positions works in tandem with the driver in the inspection and maintenance of the transport vehicle.
